This ring was cast from a bud-covered branch from a tree discovered in the artist’s neighborhood. The branch, like ivy, wraps around the finger. It is reminiscent of the artist’s childhood when she used to wrap twigs around her fingers and pretend they were rings. The stone was set in place with beads and the ring was cast in gold by using the ancient technique of lost wax casting.
