Visual artist Susan Hamilton Meier makes fine jewelry inspired by nature's blueprint. Her work explores the elegant repetition of shapes across scale and the mathematical patterns that govern organic forms. She uses the imprints of shells and stones as well as her own hand-carved textures to enliven her designs.
Circles and spheres in particular recur throughout the line as a fundamental building block of nature and a symbol of feminine creative power. She also incorporates an interest in the energetic properties of gemstones. Susan holds a BA in art history from Dartmouth College and did her graduate study at the School of Visual Arts. She has been creating and exhibiting her work in NYC for over 20 years.
