Torah hoops by Ruth Edelson
"When I first joined twitter many years ago, my very first feed included this photo from the Walters Museum. This photograph is a panel from an ancient torah arc door.
At first glance, it appears to be a very complicated design. But what struck me immediately was the elegant simplicity of the outline—clearly a perfect pair of hoops!
This simple design is highly versatile! I make it with various metals, two different sizes, and with or without various stones. The larger size has a bohemian vibe and the smaller size is more classic. Also, it can be mounted directly on a wire, on a stud, or as a dangle on an ear wire. I generally prefer the latter because of the movement and comfort.
I hope you have enjoyed this glimpse into my creative process!"
